Northwest

Northwest Youth Ministry

A YUTE is a student between the grades of 7 and 12. The YUTE ministry is focused on helping parents disciple their students into Christian adults. We believe that God has called every parent to be the primary spiritual influence of their children, and he has commanded the church to support parents as they do that. Most Sunday evenings during the school year we meet as a small group to eat, play games, talk, and have a bible study. We also meet Sunday mornings during Sunday School and have various events throughout the year.

How To Be Involved

There are a few different ways you can help the YUTE ministry. One way to support the YUTEs is to provide a meal for the students and sponsors during small group meetings/events. For individuals who have been approved to work with students at Northwest Community Church (including a background check, more than 6 months of service, and membership) you may also be a volunteer for the YUTEs during our discovery group, Sunday school, or special events. After a student has graduated from high school they must be out of the YUTE ministry for at least one full Chicago public school calendar year before being able to volunteer as a sponsor with the YUTE ministry.
